Straight answers about tree work, land clearing & excavation

Pricing, insurance, equipment, timing — everything customers ask before they sign. If we missed one, call or text and we'll add it.

Pricing & estimates

Most residential tree removals in Franklin, TN fall between $400 and $2,500. Price depends on tree height, trunk diameter, lean, dead vs. live wood, access for equipment, and whether the stump is included. We provide free written estimates so there are no surprises.

Yes. We come look at the work, ask what you want done, and give you a written number. No fee, no obligation, no pressure.

Not within our core service area (Williamson, Maury, Davidson counties and immediate neighbors). Long-distance jobs may include a mobilization line item, and we'll show it on the estimate before you ever agree.

Cash, check, all major cards, and ACH. We can also set up payment plans through QuickBooks financing for qualified customers.

For small jobs, no. For larger land clearing or excavation projects, we typically take a deposit to lock the schedule and cover initial mobilization. We'll explain it on the estimate.

Insurance & licensing

Yes. Claiborne Services LLC is insured. We can send a copy of our certificate of insurance directly to your homeowner's insurance or HOA before we start.

We operate as a registered Tennessee LLC. Tree work and land clearing in Tennessee do not require a contractor's license under the standard residential thresholds, but we hold all required local registrations and carry insurance.

In the rare event property is damaged, we own it. Take a photo, tell us, and we'll make it right — repair, replace, or pay for it. That's the whole point of being insured.

Equipment & access

Not if we can help it. We use tracked skid steers with turf-friendly tracks, ground protection mats when conditions are wet, and we plan the path before we drive in. If we expect ruts, we tell you first.

Usually, yes. Between our articulating boom lift, climbers, and compact skid steers with grapples, we handle most fence-line and backyard removals without needing a crane.

Yes. Storm-damaged, leaning, hollow, or oversized trees over structures are our wheelhouse. When the situation calls for a crane, we coordinate one.

Timing & scheduling

For estimates, usually within a few business days. For storm emergencies, we triage by safety risk — trees on houses and blocking driveways jump the line.

Routine tree work is typically 1–2 weeks out. Larger land clearing and excavation projects depend on weather and the current schedule; we give you a real window before you sign anything.

Light rain, often yes. Lightning, high winds, or saturated ground that would damage your yard, no. Safety and your lawn come first.

Specific services

In practice we use them interchangeably for residential work — both mean selective cutting to improve health, shape, or clearance. Pruning emphasizes long-term tree health; trimming often emphasizes appearance or clearance from structures.

Stump grinding is a separate line item. Some customers want the stump gone; others want to leave it and plant around it. We'll quote both ways.

A tracked machine with a rotating drum chews brush, saplings, and small trees into mulch on the spot. Faster and cleaner than dozing, and leaves a layer of natural ground cover.

By default, yes. If you want to keep the firewood or wood chips, just tell us — we'll stack what you want and haul the rest.
